About

“It’s not about what the world holds for you, it’s about what you give to it.” (Inspired by Anne of Green Gables)

For the longest time, I lived life on autopilot and simply “allowed” things to happen to me as a means of getting by as a result of many life experiences. This reactive way of living was anything but fool-proof. In fact, it caused a lot of pain, denial, low self-esteem, and harmful habits. Living life with a damage control mindset is hardly living at all but really “surviving as a result of…”

It was not until graduating college, going through periods of depression, heartbreak, and quitting my first out-of-college job, that my perception started changing. For one, I began to truly experience my Christian walk in first person through my desire to walk closer with God and change my life. That, along with receiving tragic news of a high school friend committing suicide and interacting with a hispanic landscaper and his son all inspired me to start this venture.

I know, you may be asking, “how could all of those drastically different experiences connect to inspire A Spot for You?”

Well, all of those situations reiterated how important it is for people to know that their lives matter and have purpose. Regardless of what your current and/or past experience speaks back to you or how others treat you, no matter how you may feel, you are not alone. Be present. Be helpful. Be you.

“There is more than enough space in this world for your life to occupy.”

Though it feels like life may knock us down, though the world may pressure us to be something other than what us were created to be, through it all, we are alive and breathing, which confirms our unique purpose and a reason to hope. In fact, I believe that each day we wake up, our lives declare to the world, “there’s a spot for me.”

So friend, I’d like to share some simple things: a journey of faith, growth, healing, and learning in God as a young woman, encouragement for you, and touch of photography and art.

There is beauty in believing and creating, and there’s beauty recognizing that there’s a spot for you, there’s a spot for me, and there’s a spot for us.

“I will praise you; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are your works; and that my soul knows right well.”
Psalm 139:14
